In her 2008 film Somewhere in the World, Pélagie Gbaguidi deals with the definition of cultural codes and their sociographic classification. "Who defined the boundaries? What are their limits," she asks herself in her work of critical humour. The work of the artist, who lives in Brussels, constitutes the conceptual starting point of the exhibition, which develops around the confrontation between the local and the global. The concept of place and its cultural classification, at the centre of the exhibition, is reflected in a critical and ironic way.The artist proposes a process of confrontation between racism and its cultural forms. She tries to propose a critical look to get out and break with the system that produces discrimination, violence and suffering. Pélagie Gbaguidi
